Privacy Policy

Quiet Routine (quietroutine.bond) is a small, independent editorial site. This page explains, in plain language, what little data we touch when you read the journal, try the Stillhour app pages, or sign up for the occasional newsletter.

What we collect

Reading the essays on this site does not require an account and does not collect personal information beyond what any web server sees automatically, such as your browser type and the page you requested. If you submit the newsletter form, we collect the email address you provide, for the sole purpose of occasionally sending you notice of new essays.

Cookies and analytics

Like most websites, pages on quietroutine.bond may use a small number of cookies or similar local storage to remember basic preferences (for example, that you've already seen the newsletter confirmation) and, in general terms, to understand which pages are read and roughly how visitors arrive here. We do not use this information to build individual profiles for advertising, and we do not sell visitor data to anyone.

If we ever add a third-party analytics tool, it will operate under that provider's own privacy terms, and this page will be updated to reflect it.

Newsletter

Email addresses submitted through the newsletter form are used only to send occasional notices about new essays. We do not share this list with third parties. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing us; every message we send will also include a way to opt out.

How long we keep data

Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Basic server logs, if kept at all, are retained only briefly for security and troubleshooting purposes.

Your choices

  • You can read every essay on this site without submitting any personal information.
  • You can decline the newsletter form entirely — it has no effect on your ability to read the site.
  • You can ask us, at any time, what data we hold about your email address and request its deletion.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
